Volunteering

Did you get scared? Sometimes the thought of making commitments and sacrifices can make us feel a little anxious. It can mean getting up earlier than planned on a Saturday morning or missing a favorite soap opera or sporting event.

Most likely it will put us face to face with people who have special needs due to age, disabilities or life’s misfortunes. You will often have to dig deep into your bag of good qualities and show patience, compassion and understanding.

The world is full of people in need who have been waiting for someone like you. I think you’re ready for the challenge?

Would you like to help or do you need help?

Each issue of The Town Kaleidoscope will publish volunteer opportunities and the names of people who want to volunteer in a special situation. If you are an individual or a non-profit organization who could use help, please contact us with the details. Maybe you’re in need of someone to take you to the store or to a doctor’s appointment. Or maybe you are lonely and would just like to know someone with whom you could have a friendly chat once in a while. If you are an individual looking to volunteer your time and talent, please write and let us know what you would like to volunteer for and when you would be available.

Please send information, including your phone number and permission to publish your request to: The Town Kaleidoscope, PO Box 1939, Bayonne, NJ 07002
